Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, is seeking a Senior Scheduling Officer. Reporting to the Director for Academic Scheduling, this position will be responsible for the following:Collects, processes, analyzes, and maintains course information and assigns classrooms for Rutgers University-Newark schools, departments, programs, and organizations for courses, events, and final exams.Serves as a liaison to State and Federal agencies, major corporations, community organizations, and special programs desiring to use instructional spaces for testing, conferences, programs, and cultural events.Manages the integration of instructional spaces, the scheduling of enhanced classrooms, and assists in monitoring usage of those spaces.Prepares the Final Exam Schedule and maintains the Master Course List for Rutgers University-Newark and documents and updates scheduling policies, deadlines, etc. on the website.Synthesizes guidelines, helps establish procedures, and enforces policies regarding instructional space and communication between the Office of Academic Scheduling and various administrative and academic areas and external constituents.Trains users of the Course Scheduling System and other scheduling-related systems. Assists with space and enrollment management, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing reports.Position Status

DayWork Arrangement
This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective from September 1, 2022, through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date.Minimum Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Also requires a minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a program coordination or administrative function, good communication skills, and computer literacy.Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be highly organized, have the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of people, set priorities, and work independently as well as be a strong and collaborative team player.Excellent oral and written communication skills, superior attention to detail, and strong computer literacy.Preferred Qualifications
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in higher education administration, scheduling, registration in an academic unit of a large university, or equivalent experience.Experience with Microsoft Office, Event Management Software (EMS), and/or Infosilem.Physical Demands and Work Environment
