Seeking a senior member of our Portfolio Strategy Consulting team to represent the suite of Morgan Stanley Investment Management/Eaton Vance solutions at select US intermediary firms. The PSC team is tasked with engaging relevant investment, allocator, and research contacts to enhance the profile of all MSIM and all affiliate investment solutions. The team is open to this person sitting in New York or Boston.

As a senior member of the Portfolio Strategy Consulting Team, the individual will support a growing sales organization in building a distribution footprint in the Intermediary Channel. The Portfolio Strategy Consultant will partner with National Accounts, Sales, Product and Marketing to drive research analyst recommendations, model placement, and assist in overall visibility of MSIM/EV strategies at focus broker dealers; in order to drive sales/AUM growth. The position will be focused on building strategic relationships with key research/model allocator personnel to ensure proper representation of investment strategies. This position will also require business planning ownership in support of the department's sales efforts.

Responsibilities

Relationship Management & Leadership:

Work in coordination with National Account Managers to identify and execute on product opportunities and coordinate distribution efforts at partner firms. Developing meaningful and professional relationships with influential research team decision makers for recommended list and model mandates.

Research Focus:

Building thorough knowledge on focus strategies in order to promote strategies to investment research gatekeepers. Ability to diagnose trends and align focus strategies with Research/Asset Allocation initiatives at the home office/gatekeepers. Conduct peer relative competitive analysis.

Client Service and Communications:

The Consultant uses technical, analytical, and communication skills to support gatekeepers of designated firms in the execution and production of all client deliverables. Serve as primary research liaison between designated firm contacts and MSIM/EV, executing a proactive service and sales model.

Knowledge:

Expected to be knowledgeable about and conversant in the capital markets, portfolio construction, client affinity issues and MSIM offering, people and resources. Understand and maintain a working knowledge of firm platforms and due diligence process.

Leverage:

Orchestrate and work in coordination to bring the full breadth of MSIM/EV resources to clients including appropriately managing the investment professional involvement in client meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

NASD Series 7, 65, 63 licenses required.

CFA and/or graduate degree preferred.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the investment management industry, previous client relationships preferred.

Established relationships with decision makers at national broker/dealer and distribution platform.

Successful track record of representation of investment strategies to broad spectrum of retail and due diligence constituencies.

In-depth investment knowledge, including capital markets, asset allocation, portfolio construction and portfolio implementation concepts.

Candidates will possess 1:1 consulting skills, presentation, and facilitation skills.

Excellent analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

High degree of professionalism, organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple responsibilities.

Experience prioritizing partner firm initiatives and focus. Demonstrated success in taking initiative and delivering immediate and independent action to solve business problems.

Ability to travel is required.
