Position OverviewThe Senior Director will be responsible for working with team members and program leaders to develop and implement a vision for Urban Resource Institute’s homeless families' programs, ensuring the provision of quality and effective services to homeless families that reflect best practices in the field.Salary: $110,000 - $120,000MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMaintain constructive collaborative relationships with partner agencies in the public and private sector as well as funding sources and service providers.Play a leadership role towards achievement of organizational mission and strategic plans.Provide leadership in the development of strong intra- and inter-agency collaborations to improve the systemic response to homeless families.Develop a program design that incorporates group activities for homeless families.Make recommendations as needed, implement and maintain consistent policies and practices regarding program management, client services, and other agency protocols.Responsible for implementing homeless programs in NYC and maintaining general oversight.Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations as well as agency and program policies.Work with the Vice President, other Senior Team members, and program leaders to ensure consistency, collaboration, and complementary services between URI sites and programs.Work with program leaders and QIET team to build and develop services that represent the best practices in working with homeless families.Hire, train, develop, and supervise staff as needed.Provide onsite presence at each location based on priorities and need for support.Be on 24/7 call to respond to the needs of the facility, DHS, and URI via phone and in-person.Conduct facility and chart audits/monitoring to minimize risk to the agency; facility walk-through 1x per month or as needed, chart reviews 1x per month per site or as needed.Maximize bed utilization and achieve optimal occupancy rate of 95%.Provide daily guidance and bi-weekly supervision for Program Directors.Oversee safety and incident management, including in-person presence for any priority one or major safety concerns.Provide support to case conference with families to foster compliance and attainment of goals as needed by the Program Directors.Ensure facilities are maintained at the highest level and facilitate collaboration between facilities and operations staff as well as with the Director of Safety and Security.Perform other duties and assignments as requested by the Vice President including representation of the Homeless Families programs and URI with key stakeholders.SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSESMust possess an advanced degree (Bachelors, Masters, JD, PhD etc.) in related field.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCEPassion for URI’s mission, vision, and core values with the ability to communicate this passion to others.A minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience in a social service capacity, preferably in the field of homeless services.Strong commitment to equity and social justice including a focus on self-awareness and engagement of continuous learning around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion; high level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ).Demonstrated experience working with and sensitivity to individuals from varying sociodemographic backgrounds including individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and/or HIV-affected, the elderly, and individuals with substance use and/or mental health issues.Familiarity with NYC’s DHS and OTDA regulations and compliance.Strong project management skills and experience, especially in projects requiring significant resources and cross-functional involvement, is a must.Must be an intelligent and articulate individual who can relate to and work with people at all levels of the organization.Must have the ability to manage and organize multiple projects in a busy, fast-paced and pressured work environment.Exceptional interpersonal and flexible communications skills, and the ability to develop positive and productive relationships with a dispersed and diverse team.Excellent computer and technical skills; knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.Must be results-oriented and driven with skills in organization, planning, and attention to detail.Ability to motivate and lead others; respectful of others; interacts with tact and sensitivity.Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to build and sustain working relationships with employees, vendors, and colleagues etc.Strong leadership skills with experience building teams, developing and empowering staff, emphasizing timely delivery to meet critical deadlines.Professional integrity, honesty, and ethics; comfortable with being responsible and accountable.Acknowledge and application of self-care and work-life balance for self and others.At URI, we are committed to cultivating an inclusive work environment.
