The Organization:
The Advertising Partnerships team is a high impact team with strategic importance to revenue and subscriber growth for Chegg. With over 7.7M paying subscribers, Chegg is the leading direct-to-student connected learning platform. The Brand Partnerships team enables marketers to reach a highly engaged and authenticated GenZ audience. We are excited to accelerate the growth of Brand Partnerships, capitalizing on the immense potential ahead, particularly with the introduction of our new AI chat platform.
The Role:
As the strategic and operational leader for our direct digital advertising partnerships, you'll be instrumental in growing Chegg as a premium destination for advertisers. With this green-field opportunity, you'll pioneer the development of new ad products, first party data and go-to-market strategies, and expanding our presence in both digital display media and AI chat surfaces.
Your role involves setting clear goals and devising strategies to achieve them, while also managing revenue forecasts and costs effectively. Collaborating closely with the Director of Ad Strategy and Ops, you'll spearhead the development of an ad tech platform to leverage unique first-party data for measurable advertising outcomes. Reporting directly to the VP of Advertising, you'll engage in frequent debates and lobbying efforts with cross-functional leaders in Product, Engineering, and Data Science to garner support for our initiatives. This role demands a visionary leader with a strong strategic mindset, exceptional team-building skills, and the ability to navigate complex organizational dynamics to drive our advertising business forward.
Responsibilities:
Strategic and operational leader for Chegg’s digital direct advertising business.
Responsible for ad revenue growth and forecast through setting and enabling team to achieve 12-to-18-month objectives and programs.
Cultivate, grow and manage relationships with executive-level clients and decision makers; enable your team to address client needs by sharing important account information.
Win executive support and prioritization for ad programs across cross-functional teams.
Develop new advertising products and go-to-market strategies for Chegg’s inventory and 1PD.
Manage and develop a team of sellers, account managers, designer, and sales force specialist through regular coaching and feedback.
Design commission and compensation structures aligned with strategic objectives, and revenue/margin targets.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 12 years’ experience in digital advertising, specializing in web publisher inventory monetization to agencies, brands, and DSPs.
Proven track record in developing new products and go-to-market strategies for publisher 1PD and inventory across Display, Video, and Custom formats.
Management experience overseeing P&Ls and leading diverse teams, including sales, account management, design, and operations.
Proven success collaborating with cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Data Science, etc.) to develop and launch ad products and experiences.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and inspire others.
Highly analytical, strategic, and creative thinker with strong business judgment.
High-energy, team-first attitude: motivated to work hard in an ever-changing environment.
Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $145,898 - $361,272. The actual pay will vary based on geographic location, job requirements, professional experience, and other factors.
