Systems Administrator
to support the operations and maintenance of a cutting-edge research and development ground system. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience managing complex IT environments, ensuring system stability, and implementing necessary updates and patches. This role involves proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing system performance to meet the rigorous demands of R&D activities. Provide support in the installation, implementation, operation, maintenance and security of Microsoft Windows servers, Linux RedHat servers, and COTS applications.Support Microsoft systems (desktops, Remote Desktop Services, servers, SCCM/MECM, Active Directory Domain Controllers) hosted on both virtual and bare metal hardware.Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in production.Monitor and optimize system performance.Independently work with internal and external stakeholders, including the end user community, for diagnosing system issues.Troubleshoot configuration and integration issues in development, test and production environments.Qualifications
Required Qualifications:Associates degree and six (6+) years of relevant experience; OR Bachelors degree with two (2+) years of relevant experience; Four (4) additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.This position requires an active TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance.Active CompTIA Security+ certificationDemonstrated experience supporting users in a help desk environment both locally and remotely with enterprise service desk applications.Working knowledge of network standards/protocols/security, hardware, and application virtualization.Working knowledge of local area and wide area networking principles and concepts including bandwidth management.Hands-on experience with network equipment including hubs, routers, switches, bridges, firewalls, servers, transmission media, and related hardware.Hands-on experience with network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methods.Desired qualifications:Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency.Experience with best practices, concepts and procedures for networking in Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities with varying levels of classification.CCNA, CCNP or CISSP.Familiarity with Palantir products (Foundry, Apollo).1+ years of experience working with Splunk.Benefits:Peraton offers enhanced benefits to employees working on this critical National Security program, which include heavily subsidized employee benefits coverage for you and your dependents, 25 days of PTO accrued annually up to a generous PTO cap and eligibility to participate in an attractive bonus plan.Target Salary Range
