Peraton is looking for a seasoned Linux Systems Administrator to join our Cyber Intel team here in Laurel, MD. The System Administrator we seek provides support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Information Technology (IT) systems. Manages IT system infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc. Provides Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems. Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers. Configures and manages UNIX and Windows operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity, and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:An active TS/SCI security clearance with a polygraph is required.Five (5) years’ experience as a SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required.Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.DOD 8570 Certification is required (preferably Security +).Desired Qualifications:UNIX/Linux system administration experience (Linux, Solaris), understanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, performance tuning and capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels), ability to write simple Perl/Shell scripts, and knowledge of Oracle (including installation and setup).Programming skills in Perl or Bourne.Knowledge of how C/C++, DBMS and Perl work together.Security+ and Redhat certifications.Knowledge of installing, configuring, and utilizing SaltStack automation framework.Benefits

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
