The
Safety and Health Lead
is a key position within the Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) Department which is responsible for supporting safety & health efforts at the Olive Creek (OC1) Site in Hallam, NE. These efforts include leading routine audits, inspections, implementing corrective actions, planning/implementing industrial sampling among other relevant safety & health support activities. The Safety and Health Lead will follow Monolith Core Values, support continuous improvement and promote a positive SH&E culture.

Why we want to know You:
Bachelor degree in occupational safety, industrial hygiene (IH), or related field
Appropriate safety-related experience may be considered in lieu of degree
2-5+ years safety experience in an industrial manufacturing environment preferred
Relevant certifications (GSP, ASP, CSP or CIH) or ability to attain preferred
Familiar with federal, state, and local policies and regulations related to safety & health
Able to analyze data, comprehend both abstract and concrete concepts, and translate technical information in a manner that can be communicated to non-technical personnel
A clear verbal and written communicator with strong interpersonal skills that has the ability to influence others and drive change
Provides subject matter expertise to safety-related efforts
Able to walk on uneven-unpaved surfaces periodically
Able to perform entry into confined spaces and properly utilize fall protection equipment as needed
Comfortable climbing ladders and twelve (12) flights of stairs periodically as duties require
What you'll do in this role:
Maintain injury reporting and tracking database
Conduct site risk and hazard assessments
Perform field and document evaluations of Safe Work Permitting system
Perform safety analytic tracking and trending
Conduct and lead routine field inspections and audits
Develop, update and maintain written Safety & Health Procedures as required
Contribute to emergency preparedness functions and activities (i.e. inspections, rescue team training, HazMat Spill response)
Manage and conduct industrial hygiene (IH) surveys including air and noise sampling as appropriate
Develop, deliver, track and monitor S&H training for new and existing site personnel
Perform other related duties as assigned by manager
Your environment:
Most hours worked Monday through Friday
Able to work weekends, holidays and respond to callouts on a non-routine basis
