Regional Health & Safety Manager . The position can be based in either our Denver, Salt Lake City, or Kansas City offices. Experience with hazardous waste remediation and emergency response preferred as responsibilities require knowledge and support of such projects. This position will require a broad range of health, safety, and industrial hygiene support for projects throughout the western region and likely require extensive travel. Applicant must have solid communication, writing and scheduling skills and must be able to effectively budget time and resources. Successful applicant will report to the Vice President, Health and Safety and require consistent interaction with project management staff, as well as client representatives and subcontractors. Overall duties will include plan and procedure development, implementation and oversight, industrial hygiene monitoring and compliance, and overall safety management for projects in this region. Support in other regions may be required as needed.
Key ResponsibilitiesAdvises project management and staff to ensure compliance with applicable regulations including OSHA, EPA, DOT in the U.S. and company EHSS requirements.Remain current with developments in and interpretation of OSHA regulations.Provide corporate and project health and safety support.Develop Project Specific HASPs and AHAs, modify and amend as necessary.Recognize health and safety issues and successfully resolve using effective communication and positive reinforcement/persuasion.Preparation and review of safety data/reports.Evaluates significant incident and hazard analysis and recommends corrective actions.Perform health and safety audits of site operations.Coordinate and conduct employee exposure assessments to monitor the effectiveness of established control measures (inhalation, noise, illumination, radiation).Calibrate, maintain, and operate a variety of IH sampling equipment.Analyze IH data and prepare accurate and complete technical reports of findings.Conduct hazard assessments to identify and establish effective control measures.Develop and conduct safety training as needed.
Role RequirementsEducation, Experience & Proficiencies:Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification by the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) certification by the Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC) preferred but not required.Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in science (occupational health and safety, industrial hygiene, chemistry, biology, or other science discipline) or engineering.3+ years of environmental hazardous waste, construction, industrial and/or consulting experience, as an occupational safety and health professional or industrial hygienist.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities are essential.A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams of specialists to meet client and project needs.Superior task management skills, including scheduling, prioritizing, and follow-up.OSHA 40 Hour HAZWOPER trained with applicable 8-Hour refresher as needed.OSHA 8 Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor trained.OSHA 30 Hour Construction Safety and Health trained.Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship.Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
