The Dr. Bonnie G. Metcalf School of Education at California Baptist University is accepting applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Elementary Education starting August 2025. In response to our growing undergraduate and graduate programs in Elementary Education, we are looking to add to our dynamic team. The successful candidate for this position is one who is enthusiastic about being part of developing the next generation of educators collaboratively with our existing team.California Baptist University (CBU) is one of the top private Christian universities in Southern California. The primary duties will include developing and teaching courses within the School of Education. Other duties include engaging in research and service through the university and community, including, but not limited to, assessment and curriculum development and participation in university and school committees. Candidates must embrace the mission of California Baptist University and evidence a clear understanding of, and commitment to, excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service, as well as the integration of Christian faith into their work.Minimum Qualifications:
Have a terminal degree in education; ABD will be consideredHave a teaching credentialHave relevant professional experienceBe committed to the integration of Christian faith and theology with the field of EducationDemonstrate the ability to excel in teaching, scholarship, and serviceHave knowledge of the current context of public schooling, including the California-adopted P12 content standards, frameworks, and accountability systemsHave current knowledge of Elementary Education best practicesHave knowledge of diversity in society, including diverse abilities, culture, language, race, ethnicity, and gender orientationDemonstrate effective professional practices in teaching and learning, scholarship, and serviceHave relevant, recent teaching experience with K–12 studentsHave the ability to teach students across a wide diversity of cultures and agesPreferred Qualifications:
Evidence of effective and innovative teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate levelEvidence of research agenda and scholarly activityThe successful candidate will teach 24 units and engage in relevant scholarship and service to CBU, the church, the community, and professional communities.
