POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Director of Development oversees the development team and ensures fundraising goals are met. Responsibilities include cultivating donor relationships, developing fundraising strategies, crafting persuasive materials, and collaborating across departments.

ABOUT THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Candidates should ideally have 2-3 years of front-line fundraising experience, strong communication skills, and an understanding of Baltimore's philanthropic landscape.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Relationship Building:

Nurture relationships with donors and partners.

Fundraising Strategy Development:

Collaborate on the organization's fundraising strategy.

Fundraising Copy:

Draft compelling fundraising materials.

Gift Entry and Acknowledgment:

Oversee gift entry and acknowledgment processes.

Supervision:

Supervise the Development Manager.

Collaborative Engagement:

Work with the External Affairs office to align fundraising efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Fundraising Expertise:

2-3 years of front-line fundraising experience.

Baltimore City Insight:

Understanding of Baltimore's philanthropic landscape.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Self-Driven:

Proactive approach with the ability to work independently.

Tools and Software:

Proficiency in Neon, ClickUp, and Google Workspace.
