Full Job Description
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain children’s ministry in alignment with Northway’s overall mission.
Develop Sunday School and Vacation Bible School curriculum that is meaningful and age appropriate for each grade level.
Recruit, equip and manage volunteers as classroom teachers and supporting roles for Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and periodic children’s events.
Communicate regularly with parents regarding learning curriculum and upcoming events.
Coordinate with Northway lead pastor, administrative staff, facilities team, parents and volunteers to develop, staff, and maintain a safe and secure environment for children, including acting as point person for issues relating to behavior and discipline.
Oversee and manage part-time Children’s Ministry Assistant Director.
The Children’s Ministry Director reports to the Lead Pastor for spiritual and ministry guidance. The Lead Pastor along with the People Team provides ongoing support, coaching and evaluation of performance, based on agreed Ministry Action Plan.
Qualifications:
Passion for children
Leadership experience in ministry
Committed and passionate follower of Jesus Christ
Strong communication skills
Ability to work well with children, volunteers, staff and parents.
Organized, as well as detail and task oriented.
