R100080694Faculty Position:Assistant ProfessorDepartment of MedicineJob Summary:This faculty position will have research responsibilities within the Department of Medicine, Division of Myeloma, and the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. The individual in this position will focus on research efforts conducting and developing genome sequencing of multiple myeloma (MM) and other plasma dyscrasias.He/She will have attending physician duties in the Division of Myeloma, with a focus on the care and treatment of patients with plasma cell disorders and hematologic malignancies. This includes outpatient care, as well as inpatient attending responsibilities for the division.Duties and Responsibilities (include but may not be limited to):Design and lead research studies and/or research activities to include authorship of scientific publications, industry and/or patent preparation.Publish in refereed journals as principal investigator and/or in collaboration with senior faculty, principal investigator(s), or program director(s).Hold clinic sections for inpatient attending duties at Sylvester’s main campus or other UHealth locations.Generate sufficient funds to cover his/her research endeavors and professional income practice expenses and contribute to the Department of Medicine each fiscal year.Participate in educational conferences, department meetings, and in scholarly work and administrative functions associated with the department.Position Requirements:Track record of peer-reviewed publications in myeloma research and potential or demonstrated ability to secure extramural research funding.MD with board certification or eligibility in Myeloma is required.Active or eligibility to obtain a Florida Medical License.Experience or interest in research focused on myeloma genomics.Experience working with multidisciplinary clinical and research teams; excellent written and verbal communication skills.Able to work efficiently and independently as part of a collaborative group.Job Status:
