Full TimeDescription:Chinese Lutheran Church in San Francisco is seeking a dynamic, mission-minded pastor/minister for our Chinese congregation. The ideal candidate for our church is a leader who can both cast vision and develop our existing ministries with a passionate heart for people receiving salvation.Church Profile:San Francisco Chinese Lutheran Church was founded in 1978 and has been blessed by God for 46 years. Located in the Richmond District of San Francisco, our church has been dedicated to spreading the gospel of eternal life to the Chinese community in the neighborhood for many years. We are recovering well after the pandemic, with approximately 60 members attending our in-person Cantonese service and around 20 young English-speaking members, most of whom are American-born Chinese. In addition to worship services, we offer fellowships and ministries for various age groups, including adult fellowship, sisters fellowship, youth fellowship, children's Sunday school, children's dance classes, summer activities, and community programs for the elderly. We work diligently to share the gospel with the local Chinese community and actively engage in global missionary work, supporting overseas missionaries through our prayers and donations.Job Title:
Pastor / Minister for Chinese Congregation (Cantonese)Job Description:Pastor the congregation and collaborate with deacons and church leaders to plan, coordinate, and develop various ministries.Provide spiritual guidance and pastoral care, which includes preaching in Cantonese, leading prayers, and teaching the Bible.Participate in and lead prayer meetings and fellowship Bible studies.Guide and engage in ministries such as fellowship, visits, personal counseling, and spiritual care.Oversee the English ministry, youth ministry, and Sunday school programs.Requirements:Must have a clear calling from God and hold a Master of Divinity degree or higher.Priority will be given to applicants with more than two years of full-time pastoral experience.Fluency in Cantonese is required; Mandarin is a plus, and candidates should be able to communicate in English.Must be able to preach, govern, teach, and lead effectively.Should have a passion for Christ, the Church, and evangelism.Must agree to the beliefs, rules, and constitution of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) and adhere to our congregation constitution and by-law.
