SystImmune is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to manage and execute all payroll-related functions. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payroll, ensuring compliance with payroll tax regulations, and managing payroll-related expenses, benefits, and deductions. This role will work closely with ADP, state government agencies, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate payroll execution.Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing:
Process bi-weekly/monthly payroll accurately and on time, including regular wages, bonuses, and commissions.Ensure all payroll entries are correct, including adjustments for paid time off (PTO), holidays, and overtime.- Payroll Taxes:
Calculate and file payroll taxes at the federal, state, and local levels.Ensure timely submission of payroll tax payments and returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.- Benefits Management:
Manage and administer deductions related to employee benefits, such as health insurance, 401(k), Health Savings Account (HSA), and other benefits programs.Ensure accurate contribution and deduction processing for 401(k), HSA, and insurance premiums.- Expense & Insurance:
Handle payroll-related expenses, including insurance premiums and workers’ compensation.Reconcile payroll expenses to ensure they align with accounting and budget requirements.- ADP & Compliance:
Serve as the primary liaison with ADP to address payroll system issues, updates, and improvements.Ensure all payroll activities are compliant with federal and state employment laws, including maintaining accurate records and audits.- Government Relations:
Interact with state agencies on payroll-related matters, including audits, inquiries, and tax compliance.Handle unemployment claims, wage garnishments, and any other payroll-related communications with government entities.Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field preferred.- Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll processing, including payroll tax and benefits administration.Experience working with ADP or similar payroll software systems is required.Familiarity with state and federal payroll regulations.- Skills:
Strong knowledge of payroll processes, payroll tax regulations, and benefits administration.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with payroll management systems like ADP.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and government agencies.Problem-solving mindset and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.The hiring pay range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 per year based on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.SystImmune is a stable, well-funded biotech company with a bright future.
