As part of our growth, we are seeking a dedicated IT Help Desk Technician to join our IT team. This is an entry-level role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about supporting scientific innovation through exceptional IT support. You will work closely with experienced IT engineers who maintain a seamless technological infrastructure while gaining valuable hands-on experience in advanced IT projects. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact for employees experiencing technical issues, ensuring smooth daily operations across the organization. Troubleshoot basic hardware, software, and networking issues, including PCs, printers, mobile devices, and laboratory equipment. Provide IT support for remote employees, ensuring seamless technical operations across locations. Assist with system setups, configurations, and software installations. Configure and deploy workstations and lab equipment while adhering to security protocols. Work with IT/AV-related Software/Hardware. Provision/decommission equipment and accounts when employees leave or join the company. Collaborate with senior IT engineers on infrastructure upgrades and server maintenance. Escalate issues to appropriate teams according to internal procedures and provide documentation of any actions taken. Required Skills & Qualifications: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with service/help desk systems Hands-on experience supporting modern operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, and Android) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, and strong capability to learn new software and systems. Familiarity with concepts of virtualized environments, cloud computing, and various network technologies including DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing. Familiarity with Cisco managed switches/routers, Palo Alto Firewalls, and basic cabling Ability to handle multiple requests/projects simultaneously and prioritize. Ability to demonstrate clear & confident communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to deal with problems and technical issues in a friendly, calm, and reassuring manner. Strong organizational skills Ability to lift or move items weighing up to 25 pounds. Ability to handle multiple requests/projects simultaneously and prioritize. The hiring pay range for this position is $45,000 - $70,000 per year based on skills, education, and experience relevant to the role.
