Sustainability - Nonfinancial Reporting Assurance & Advisory (NFRA) - Manager

At EY, the Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) team seeks to build a better working world by helping businesses and governments respond to societal, environmental, and economic challenges. We help businesses understand and evaluate the broader value impacts and outcomes associated with their organizations, operations, programs, and projects.Our global team is multidisciplinary and combines our core knowledge in accounting and reporting with knowledge in technical and regulatory sustainability issues. Our teams help clients improve and report on their sustainability performance. Join us and help clients manage emerging risks, reduce costs through the design, and implementation of systems and processes and leverage opportunities in areas such as climate change, green and sustainable finance, health and safety, labor rights, nonfinancial reporting, supply chain and environmental management.The opportunityThe nature of this role means no two projects will be the same. That means you’ll need to think on your feet and challenge existing practices to develop answers to complex issues. You’ll also be collaborating with colleagues across multiple service lines, so we’ll look to you to build relationships and identify opportunities for our clients to benefit from our knowledge in other areas. Regular travel up to 25% will be required as you will be meeting with key clients, some of those being the most respected in their fields.Your key responsibilitiesOur Non-Financial Reporting Assurance/Advisory (NFRA) team is growing exponentially, and as a Manager, you will play a key role in that growth. Working across all industries, you will develop your career by assisting clients in communicating nonfinancial performance and responding to the development of corporate, nonfinancial, and integrated reporting frameworks. Our team helps clients to identify stakeholder expectations, as well as assist in providing trust and confidence to the market on performance and in creating long-term value. Example project activities may include:Developing nonfinancial disclosures, integrated annual reports and other communicationsEstablishing corporate governance risk disclosuresCollecting and collating nonfinancial data to support management reporting, reporting to the board, and external disclosuresDeveloping internal and external reporting strategies, including identifying KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)Leading fieldwork, managing performance, and keeping engagement leaders updated on audit engagementsSkills and attributes for successUnderstanding of environmental, social, economic, and governance (ESG) disclosure standards, frameworks and questionnaires such as GRI, TCFD, SASB, CDP, UNPRI, and other sustainability reporting frameworksAbility to communicate with a variety of stakeholders including management and the board to provide insight to related nonfinancial performancesUnderstanding of carbon credits or offsets issues under voluntary and/or regulatory standardsAbility to engage clients and provide authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactionsQuantify green or social impact bonds against agreed criteriaTo qualify for the role you must haveA bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance, or business discipline, supported by 5 to 7 years’ work experience as an auditor in a public accounting firmUS CPA licensure in your work statePrior consulting experience is preferred, but not requiredA proven track record of successfully assisting businesses in understanding key climate change and sustainability issues, regulatory developments, and market best practicesAbility to collaborate with stakeholders to develop strategies and solutions of high business valueSufficient level of technical background to provide highly-credible leadership to development teams and to be able to accurately and objectively evaluate complex project risks and issuesThe ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessaryAccess to reliable transportation to/from the EY office and client sites. If you’re a confident leader with a curious mind and the ability to solve complex issues, this role is for you.The salary range for this position in Denver is 119,900 to 199,800.The salary range for this position in Nevada is 119,900 to 199,800.The salary range for this position in Stamford, CT is 143,900 to 239,800.The salary range for this position in Hartford, CT is 131,900 to 219,800.What we offerWe offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $127,100 to $233,000. The salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $152,500 to $264,800. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year. Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
