Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Asset Manager to join our team in an Atlanta-based real estate services company that specializes in the acquisition, property management, and development of multi-family housing. Our portfolio encompasses approximately 290 properties across the Southeastern United States. This role requires strong leadership, communication, analytical, and strategic planning skills to drive the success and growth of the multifamily portfolio. You will oversee the physical, financial, and operational aspects of a diverse portfolio, including both market rate and affordable housing, with the primary objective of maximizing long-term value.
Responsibilities:
Evaluate the physical, financial, and operational aspects of a diverse portfolio of multifamily communities to maximize long-term value.
Communicate regularly with Property Management, Project Partners, and other stakeholders to drive portfolio performance and advance goals.
Create, analyze, and evaluate reports and data to effectively monitor portfolio goals and performance.
Develop partnerships with stakeholders through clear communication, ensuring timely preparation and submission of reporting packages.
Prepare action plans, reports, and deliverables to address performance objectives.
Assist interdepartmental teams with planning and executing value events like acquisitions and sales.
Ensure adherence to proforma and quality of stakeholder deliverables.
Create business plans for each asset, ensuring ownership goals are met.
Inspect and review the physical condition of assets, partnering with Property Management and Ownership for improvements.
Act as a resource on partnership agreements, loan documents, and other specialized areas.
Develop strategies to drive asset performance and identify income-generating opportunities.
Manage ancillary income functions for the region, including easement requests and cable contracts.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field; professional designations (HCCP, CCIM, CPM, COS, CAM) preferred.
4+ years experience in Multifamily Asset Management, preferably in Affordable Housing.
Thorough knowledge of the affordable housing industry, including Section 42, Section 8, HOME, LIHTC & RD Rural Housing programs. Required
Clear communication skills in English, both oral and written.
Strong writing and composition skills.
Advanced mathematical and reasoning skills.
Ability to understand complex partnership structures and distribution possibilities.
General accounting background preferred.
Advanced proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Typing speed of at least 40 wpm and 10-key capabilities required.
Ability to use various software programs and learn new ones quickly.
Yardi experience is a plus.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize qualitative and quantitative data.
This role does require travel of up to 75%.
