As DevOps Software Engineer, you will be crafting the tools used by every developer at Prudential. Our goal is to automate everything from the desktop IDE through production deployments so that applications teams can focus on delivering business value. You will be implementing a cutting-edge enterprise platform by partnering with industry leaders. In this role, you will be building services and functions to automate development tasks. You will be assembling these capabilities together in a reusable frame to solve specific needs and scale them to the enterprise.Here is What You Can Expect on a Typical Day

Collaborate with the team to understand the immediate feature requests and discuss solutions.Communicate with the tech leads to understand how the work contributes to the product roadmap.Develop software that is held to a very high security and quality standard.Coordinate dependencies and deliverables with fellow DevOps teams.Bring an understanding of relevant and emerging technologies, begin to identify opportunities to provide feedback to the team, and embed learning and innovation in the day-to-day.The Skills & Expertise You Bring

1+ years of experience in software development or DevOpsBachelor of Computer Science or Engineering or experience in related fieldsExperience in Python and/or JavaScriptExperience with implementing or developing GitHub ActionsGood understanding of software development practices and challengesUnderstanding of source control and git - branching schemes, merge types, conflict resolutionsAbility to document system designs, issues, and user guidesExcellent initiative, curiosity, interpersonal and problem-solving skillsAbility to collaborate within a scrum team and with peer teamsPreferred qualifications

Familiarity with various DevOps domains:

Software development processes (Compiled/interpreted languages, containers, IaC, CasC)Developer tools (Visual Studio Code, Homebrew)Issue tracking and versioning (Jira)Package managers (pip, npm, NuGet)Build tools (Gradle, Maven, Docker, MSBuild, make)Artifact repositories (Artifactory, ECR, Nexus)Deployment tools (Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, Spinnaker)Infrastructure and deployment targets (cloud, datacenters, containers, SaaS, PaaS)

The salary range for this role is from $83,000.00 to $123,400.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills. Roles may also be eligible for additional compensation and/or benefits. Eligibility to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program is subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance. In addition, employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental and retirement.
