Overview:Join our dynamic Student Affairs team as an
Area Director Residential Education ! In this live-in position, you'll oversee Residence Life student staff, develop leadership programs, and foster positive, inclusive residential communities that support the holistic growth of students. Key Responsibilities:
Supervision & Development:
Lead, train, and mentor Resident Assistants (RAs) and Residence Life Assistants (RLAs), overseeing one area of campus housing.
Community Building:
Develop programs that promote student leadership and support themed housing communities.
Residential Education:
Design and implement a residential curriculum and educational programs. Plan and coordinate RA training during August and throughout the academic year.
Crisis Management:
Participate in a rotating 24/7 on-call emergency response team, addressing student concerns and emergencies.
Collaboration & Support:
Work closely with Housing, Housekeeping, and Facilities to ensure smooth housing operations.

Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of experience in residence life (Master's degree preferred).
Skills:
Exceptional communication, leadership, mediation, and problem-solving abilities. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:This role requires flexibility to work outside traditional business hours, including weekends and evenings. The position involves walking between buildings, climbing stairs, and responding to emergencies.
