Position Overview
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and innovative child and adolescent psychiatrist to serve as our Medical Director. The Medical Director is responsible for psychiatric oversight and supporting outpatient clinical operations and contributes to the overall vision and program development of the agency. Working in a community mental health outpatient setting, the medical director is an integral part of a collaborative team which includes licensed therapists, the clinical and executive directors, and other prescribing staff members.
Responsibilities and Duties
Performs psychopharmacological evaluations of clients for medication services.Provide non-face-to-face services that may include, but not be limited to phone contact with physicians, pharmacies; clients and/or parents/guardians.Review, prescribe and monitor medication of clients.Provide dictation/documentation of all client-related contacts.Provide program consultation and development. Help to create new programs to support the mental health of our children and youth in our community.Work with the Executive Director to foster a partnership with a psychiatry fellowship program.Provide case consultation and training as requested.Provide coordination, education and collaboration with local primary care providers and pediatricians.Participate in agency’s Quality Management process, as needed.Provide after-hours phone availability on an as-needed basis.Provides consultation to clinicians regarding diagnostic impressions and psychopharmacological recommendations.Prepares and maintains clinical case records and all required documentation according to clinic guidelines.Ensures Agency Confidentiality and Professional Code of Ethics policies are followed.Maintains all billing and client documentation as required by Medicaid, insurances, etc.Adheres to state and federal licensing requirements and maintains appropriate CEUs for licensing.
Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Three to five years direct practice with juvenile/young adult population preferred.
