DescriptionLocated within minutes of downtown Lexington, KY, the Kentucky Horse Park is a 1,224-acre working horse farm, equine theme park, and internationally renowned equine competition facility. Founded in 1978, the Park is owned and operated by the Commonwealth of Kentucky and attracts more than 800,000 visitors from around the world annually. The Park also boasts a 260-site campground and is home to the International Museum of the Horse, a Smithsonian affiliate.

The Kentucky Horse Park is home to many events throughout the year such as Breyerfest, Land Rover Three Day Event, Festival of the Bluegrass, Southern Lights, and many others.

The Kentucky Horse Park is currently seeking to hire a dynamic, work driven individual to fill the position of Division Director of Buildings and Grounds. This position will provide overall general direction for all branches and sections within the division with a major program responsibility such as mechanical maintenance, grounds and facilities. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong work ethic, work well with a team and be highly motivated to get the job done.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the overall management of staff in the Division of Buildings and Grounds, including the oversight of the Blackburn Correctional Detail Work Program at the Horse Park.

Responsible for all aspects of operations regarding facilities maintenance; construction; mechanical/HVAC; electrical and plumbing systems; janitorial services; and grounds maintenance.

Responsible for interpreting and enforcing all regulatory and code compliance regarding facilities and grounds; and environmental activities.

Conducts facility and site inspection as well as project management duties.

Provides consulting and professional services in all areas of construction projects.

Responsible for overseeing and managing fleet vehicles and other equipment; and monthly inventory of such.

Responsible for overall budget associated with personnel cost; capital construction projects; equipment and supplies; and any other associated cost.

Responsible for coordinating and communicating with other department heads regarding maintenance and repair; or new construction.

Other tasks as assigned by executive staff.

Preferred Experience

Project management

State Government experience in budgeting

Energy management with energy technologies

State government background in codes and statutes
