Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a
Principal/Sr. Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer
to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be supporting our Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation development team in either
Melbourne, FL or Saint Augustine, FL.
This position also has the option for a hybrid telecommuting schedule.
The engineer will provide organizational and technical leadership and direction across the Digital Manufacturing Technology (ManTech) thrust across multiple sites. This position will also involve managing project development thru production transition, providing mentorship to team members, and managing project goals, objectives, schedules and cost while adhering to company policy.
As a member of the Advanced Manufacturing Technology & Innovation development team, you will define, develop, implement, and transition new technology solutions to manufacturing to increase efficiency, reduce cost, and improve quality. This role involves interfacing with internal and external customers, program offices, engineering disciplines, and executive management.
Job Responsibilities:
Defining Systems requirements.
Provide technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
Work under general direction and independently determine approach to solutions.
Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.
Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.
This requisition may be filled at a Principal/Sr. Principal Manufacturing Systems Engineer based on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications for Principal:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 4 years related engineering experience, OR Master's Degree with 3 years related engineering experience; OR PhD and 0 years.
Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
Familiarity with system engineering processes.
Ability to travel 20-35% of the time.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal:
Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field and 8 years related engineering experience, OR Master's Degree with 6 years related engineering experience; OR PhD and 4 years related engineering experience.
Experience with Microsoft Office Products.
Familiarity with system engineering processes.
Ability to travel 20-35% of the time.
Ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
A current and active DoD Secret level security clearance.
Demonstrated technical leadership skills.
Experience in generating requirements and working with IPTs and various customers.
Experience in hardware/software integration of manufacturing systems.

Salary ranges will be dependent upon where the position is based and follows our company geographic salary bands aligned with position. Specific salary offers will be commensurate with experience.
Salary Range:
$92,600 - $146,300
Salary Range 2:
$114,900 - $181,400
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
