Identify and execute complex and large scope fixed income sales and generate revenue aligned with William Blair’s sales strategy. Target key investors and actively surface cross sale leads, striving to increase account penetration. Maintain longstanding internal partnership with other sales professionals and actively develop leads sourced by others. Manage strong relationships with key institutional investors; synthesize client issues by leveraging seasoned expertise into meaningful advice. Leverage pertinent sales opportunities to associate staff. Serve as a sounding board to less experienced staff.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Identify and execute complex and/or large scope equity linked sales aligned with firm and function sales strategy. Target key investors and promote William Blair’s value proposition and competitive advantage. Actively surface cross-sale leads for fellow sales professionals, seeking to increase account penetration.
Establish and manage strong relationships with key equity linked investors through regular meetings and touchpoints. Synthesize client issues by leveraging seasoned technical expertise into innovative and actionable advice. Promote William Blair’s capabilities and introduce relevant subject matter/sector experts as appropriate.
Continually expand depth and breadth of expertise of William Blair’s fixed income products and pricing strategies, as well as current research findings and investment opportunities.
Proactively convey research expertise, products and investment opportunities to equity linked clients. Suggest approach/options to accomplish client objectives. Solicit orders that maximize value to both parties.
Maintain longstanding internal partnerships with sales professionals and actively develop leads sourced by others.
Guide sales meeting preparation by suggesting innovative approaches to materials/presentation content. Review presentations drafted by others. Lead high impact sales meetings.
Guide and mentor less experienced staff. Answer questions; help resolve issues; serve as a sounding board for solving client issues and approaching the close of sales.
Ensure all work transactions and products are aligned with firm and function policies, procedures and standards.
Additional responsibilities as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business required
MBA from top business school preferred
Minimum 5 years of institutional bond sales experience from a top brokerage firm required
SIE Exam, Series 7 and Series 63 must be acquired within 90 days of employment
Excellent marketing, business development and selling skills
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
In depth knowledge of the bond markets
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
This role is entirely commission-based. Commission does not include any other forms of compensation or benefits.
