Position Overview:Under the supervision of the Data Analytics Supervisor, the Informatics Analyst serves as a liaison across the various health department divisions and offices to manage, analyze, organize, report, visualize, and integrate key public health data that will be used to inform data-driven decisions. The Informatics Analyst will also be responsible for providing data analysis and visualizations that will be used to inform data-driven actions for communicable, non-communicable, and emerging diseases' operations.

The Informatics Analyst role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to efficiently coordinate workflow utilizing tools such as Excel, SQL, R, and PowerBI.

Duties & Responsibilities:Manages the full life cycle of data analytics to include requirements gathering, analysis design, data collection and cleaning, performing analysis, and reporting findings to support the entire health department's data needs.Utilizes tools such as Excel, SQL, R, PowerBI, and ArcGIS to perform data management, data cleaning, data analysis, and data visualization.Develops guidance tools and reports and documents lessons learned and best practices for public health professionals related to utilization of informatics in the public health environment including development and improvement of data recording and organization and workflow efficiencies.Fulfills intuitive data visualization dashboards and ad-hoc reports to enable data-driven decision making across various divisions and offices.Cultivates and maintains relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data analyses are aligned with organizational objectives and requirements.Conducts thorough research and communicates insights through well-crafted presentations, comprehensive reports, and intuitive dashboards to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.Education:Bachelor's degree or higher in Public Health, Epidemiology, Informatics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.

Experience:At least two (2) years of experience working on data projects including data query, cleaning, management, analysis, and visualization, including:At least one (1) year of experience using the following data tools: R or Python, SQL, and PowerBI.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of Excel, SQL, R, and PowerBI for data analysis and visualization.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in navigating and resolving complex issues.Proactive self-starter capable of initiating tasks independently.Proficiency in maintaining, analyzing, and presenting data effectively.Proficiency in computer programs, notably Microsoft Office applications.Ability to coordinate workflow effectively to ensure efficient service delivery.

Position Type and Typical Hours of Work:This is a Grant-Funded - Full Time position.Monday-Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM.Hours may vary based on task requirements.

Work Environment:This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and printers.

Physical Demands:This is a largely sedentary role; however, some duties would require the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and bending and standing for periods at a time.
