As a trusted partner to our military customers, we design, develop and operate systems that bring together service members from across the globe to help you train like you fight, because we understand that preparation requires full coordination—not readiness in piece parts.Mission Technologies, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of a Software Engineer for their Advanced Modeling and Simulation Technical Operation.

This person would work with a team that creates high-visibility 3-D environment training software and establish and maintain best practices in the organization for software development.Responsibilities:Designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.Ensures software standards are met.Define, generate, and review software requirements documentation.Develop well-written code using provided coding standards.Testing software using a Test Procedure or Requirements document and documenting/correcting any errors found.Documents cold starts and develops software for new and revised virtual environment courses.Setting up computer-based lab equipment for testing.Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail.Self-motivated and driven desire to succeed with minimal direction.Ability to work both in a team and individually.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.Preferred Requirements
