Communications (COMMs) Subject Matter Expert (SME)

to join our team in the

Virginia Beach.

This is an onsite position.Summary:The candidate will support teams performing installs, maintenance, repairs, overhauls, troubleshooting, and the tests of electrical, electronic, and/or mechanical equipment and related devices. The candidate will apply their technical knowledge to assist junior team members with the completion of assigned tasking.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Support team members and perform required communication equipment integration or installation of communication systems equipment, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and use of test equipment as requiredInstall, configure, integrate, troubleshoot, and manage HF, UHF, SATCOM, radio communications suites and associated network and cryptographic equipment deployedDemonstrate a good attitude and ability to work as a member of a cohesive teamPerformance of preventative maintenance and troubleshooting or assessment of electronic equipmentWorking alongside engineers to design, build and test solutions to a variety of technical problemsAnalyzing operations and offering suggestions for improvementPerform field validations of various watercraft and equipmentPerform work between customer sites, shore sites, and/or on shipsMinimum Qualifications:Associate degree in related field and 4 years of experience or equivalent education and years of experience in lieu of degreeTechnical experience with AC/DC circuitsExperience with HF/VHF/UHF installation/troubleshootingExperience with RF ConnectorsBasic knowledge of test equipment including but not limited to Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Optical analyzers, power meters, bench power supplies, multimeters, etc.Knowledge of the basic fundamentals of AC/DC circuits as it pertains to the installation of communications electronic equipment.Familiar with Department of Defense (DoD) services at both Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside Contiguous United States (OCONUS) locationsAbility to travel CONUS/OCONUS

as needed up to 50%Preferred Qualifications :Experience with HF/VHF/UHF radio systems (KOR 24A, PRC 117 series, Vortex, ARC-231 a plus), SATCOM equipment, radio networks (HPW, Link-11, Link -16, BFT/FBCB2), cryptographic equipment, keying data transfer devices (DTD’s), RF test equipment (oscilloscopes, power meters, spectrum analyzers), basic electronic principles, a firm knowledge of networking equipment, IP networking and sub-netting is requiredExperience with JIRA/ConfluenceNAVSEA Certified in Fiber Optic TerminationTower Climber CertifiedPossess excellent writing and verbal skillsAbility to work individually and as part of a team, both internally and with external resourcesClearance Requirements:Must be US Citizen and have an active Secret Security ClearanceMust be eligible to get a CAC cardPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry 50 Lbs.Work extensive time in stationary positions.Climb and descend ladders.Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneelMust be able to push, pull, and reachFor all positions requiring access to technology/software source code that is subject to export control laws, employment with the company is contingent on either verifying U.S.-person status or obtaining any necessary license.
