Position Overview
IH&S seeks a Finance Director to support the Life Science Optics business. The position is responsible for the overall P&L management, direction, and integrity of the accounting, finance, systems, and financial reporting functions for IDEX Health & Science Life Science Optics business – which includes all manufacturing business locations within the business.
The Director actively partners with the LSO General Manager, IH&S VP Finance, and other IH&S finance leadership in the planning, direction, and policy implementation for the business. The leader will provide strategic and technical leadership to assure adequate control environment; guidance to achieve sustainable and profitable growth; and communicates and supports the strategic and operational plans of the business.
The Director manages the Finance Managers & Cost teams to implement and lead initiatives across the manufacturing sites to improve, automate, and simplify current accounting and reporting processes to maximize their efficiency and effectiveness. The Director collaborates with and influences the Business Line reporting team to drive commercial forecasts and P&Ls by business line. The Director collaborates with the Shared Services Finance Leader for audit compliance oversight and the proper recording of P&L items impacting Life Science Optics.
The Director mentors staff and develops talent to support the growing needs of the company.
Key Responsibilities
Build and lead an aggressive monthly business rhythm, providing accurate financial results and forecast updates to Corporate and providing the Operations team with actionable information.
Reviews and summarizes monthly consolidated financial results, oversees and provides direction on accounting theory and IDEX policy as appropriate, and ensures the timely and accurate completion of all deliverables to IDEX.
Responsible for annual operating plan process, monthly forecasting/reporting, and supports strategic planning.
Responsible for asset preservation and working capital management – specifically focused on developing and implementing a robust internal control framework and ensuring compliance throughout the organization.
Partners with the Vice President of Operations and staff in managing the manufacturing unit’s efficiency and productivity.
Manages talent by selecting, training, motivating and developing the finance operations staff.
Job Qualifications
Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or MBA required.
Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible accounting and leadership experience.
Experience in reviewing, analyzing, and implementing accounting and financial reporting standards.
Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements as appropriate.
Advanced PC/ERP/Database experience.
Thorough knowledge of SOX requirements.
Superior verbal and written communication skills to work effectively in a team environment within and outside of the Accounting Department.

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $134,400.00 - $201,600.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonus plan.
