Description

The Department of Health Management & Policy invites applications for an educator-line (non-tenure) faculty position at the Assistant Professor level from candidates with expertise in health management who will contribute to the department's educational and research programs. The ideal candidate will have expertise in health management and will be qualified to teach graduate and undergraduate courses in organization theory, marketing, operation management, quality improvement, internship capstone, or digital health. Candidates who have practical experience in healthcare are especially encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate will become part of a multidisciplinary department with a rapidly growing and wide-ranging portfolio of scholarly interests in population health and healthcare management and policy, including epidemiology, health finance, health services research, health economics, infectious disease policy, quality improvement, leadership, long-term care, global health, and health security. Based in the oldest Catholic, Jesuit University in the United States, the Department of Health Management & Policy offers an undergraduate major in Health Care Management and Policy and a graduate degree in Health Systems Administration. Both fully-accredited programs emphasize a population health focus to healthcare, a critical thinking approach to health systems management, and the need for future leaders to be grounded in professional values and responsive to the common good.

NEW INITIATIVES

The successful candidate will join a founding department of the newly launched

Georgetown University School of Health , which will be a hub for population health at the university. Strong opportunities for research collaboration also exist with MedStar Health, one of the largest health care systems on the East Coast, which includes MedStar Georgetown University Hospital as well as hospitals and healthcare businesses in the Baltimore/Washington area. Georgetown has university-wide research initiatives in global health, health security, health disparities, racial justice, and environmental health.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should have a doctoral degree in public health, health services research, management, economics, business, or a related field and strong teaching experience. All applicants should be qualified to teach in both the department's undergraduate and graduate degree programs.

The projected salary pay range for this position is $120,000-$130,000, which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
