Assistant/Associate Professor of Surgery – Adult Thoracic Surgeon

Division of Adult Cardiothoracic SurgeryDepartment of SurgeryUniversity of California, San FranciscoThe Department of Surgery, Division of Adult Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco, is seeking outstanding candidates for a full time, academic Adult Thoracic Surgeon position. Candidates must have completed an ACGME-accredited fellowship in thoracic surgery and be board eligible/board certified in Thoracic Surgery by the time of hire. Applicants' materials must list current, eligible, and/or pending qualifications upon submission.The selected candidate will be expected to perform a broad range of thoracic surgical procedures, including minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgeries. The selected candidate will also be expected to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including pulmonologists, oncologists, radiologists, gastroenterologists, and other specialists, to develop comprehensive treatment plans for patients. Successful candidates must have effective communication and collaboration skills. Research productivity is expected and protected time for research will be considered. The selected candidate should have evidence of academic potential in health services, clinical or translational research.Candidates must have recognized skills in the education of surgery residents and medical students and will be expected to be active participants in the Department's residency training and educational programs.The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. The minimum base salary range for this position is $149,700 - $232,900.
