The Grand LA , this is the 7th Conrad Hotel in the U.S. and the 1st in California. Located in the most exciting state-of-the-art development in DTLA, this luxurious 28-story hotel has over 300 rooms, a spa, 16,000 square foot rooftop with a pool deck, 12,000 square feet of event space, and 4 food and beverage outlets, including a signature restaurant, outdoor restaurant, lobby bar, and in-room dining, all in partnership with Chef Jose Andres' award-winning restaurant group, JoseAndresFoodGroup. The ideal candidate should possess over five (5) years of hospitality-related experience at the manager level, with a minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience in hotel management. Ability to travel is required. Knowledge of hotel property management systems (Delphi.fdc) is necessary, along with significant experience in revenue management or a similar analytical role. A relevant degree in business development or other relevant business field (CMP, CPCE) is preferred. What will I be doing? As Director of Catering, you will provide continuous leadership in creating and delivering an exceptional team member experience and best place to work. The Director of Catering will be directly responsible for contributing to the achievement of superior business results in the areas of ensuring outstanding guest service, team member engagement, favorable financial outcomes, strategic leadership and talent development, culture, innovation, and event operations. Essential Functions: STRATEGY: • Successfully implement commercial strategic initiatives and monitor for best-in-class results. • Drive innovation and creativity within event delivery. • Partner with the General Manager/Executive Committee to deliver on Hilton’s values by creating high-impact event experiences. • Ensure high-quality service standards are maintained through continuous reviews of processes and procedures. • Provide owner relations guidance in key areas of events expertise as needed. LEADERSHIP: • Provide overall leadership and direction in all events matters. • Serve as the hotel’s credible Subject Matter Expert on all matters relating to event experience. • Engage with General Manager/Executive Committee, Sales, Catering and Events team members, external guests, and suppliers. CULTURE: • Inspire high-performing multi-cultural, multi-generational teams. • Integrate Hilton’s Values/Mission/Purpose when implementing Catering initiatives. TALENT: • Motivate and provide a work environment in which team members are productive. • Ensure all Catering manager roles have career development plans in place. OPERATIONS EXCELLENCE: • Ensure the proper use of all function space, exhibit hall, and event spaces. • Manage supplier and vendor relationships. • Development and management of departmental budgets. The annual salary range for this role is $90,000 - $105,000 based on applicable and specialized experience and location.
