We seek an energetic and motivated Sr. Scientist to join our immuno-oncology team, which aims to redirect the immune system toward tumors by delivering engineered receptors (e.g., CARs) to mature cells and hematopoietic precursors directly in vivo. In this role, you will contribute to developing mouse models for demonstrating in vivo generation and functional characterization of potent cellular medicines, including engineered CAR-T and CAR-NK cells. You will have the opportunity to explore the platform's therapeutic potential in a tumor control setting. You will contribute to preclinical studies to identify lead candidates, investigate mechanisms of action, and drive toward IND filing.
Responsibilities:Apply expertise in the immuno-oncology field and preclinical animal models to lead research activitiesEstablish suitable models to interrogate the therapeutic activity of novel immune cell engineering strategies, including in vivo delivery of CAR and other therapeutic transgenes of interestApply in vitro approaches to assess candidate constructs and interrogate mechanism of action, including measuring cellular activation, cytokine release, proliferation, cytotoxicity, persistence and/or differentiationMaintain familiarity with current literature and developments in the field to guide the research project and make recommendations to the teamMaintain laboratory records, procedures and summaries of dataPerform laboratory experiments, report data, and suggest future work to management and project teams
Qualifications:
Required:
A PhD degree in the field of Immunology, Biology, or Cell Biology with a minimum of two years of relevant post-PhD work, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and laboratory experience in biological sciencesExperience with preclinical animal models to study novel immunotherapiesIn-depth understanding of biology and functional properties of various immune cell populations.Experience with typical in vitro methodologies to measure immune cell function, including flow cytometry, ELISA, real-time microscopy, etc.Proven ability to work both independently and in a team setting to design experiments, troubleshoot, interpret and report data back to relevant stakeholders.Skilled in communicating scientific concepts and data in presentations, electronic notebook, and report writingPreferred:
Prior experience working in a collaborative industry environment in the field of Immuno-oncologyHands-on experience working with preclinical animal models to investigate engineered cellular therapies for immuno-oncologyExpertise in T and/or NK cell biologyExperience generating and characterizing CAR-engineered immune cellsAbout Ensoma:
Ensoma is a place where you can ask the big questions. We look at gene therapy today and ask: What if we could eliminate the patient burden? What if we could treat diseases that affect millions? What if we could treat people anywhere around the world?
Ensoma was founded to answer these questions through our Engenious platform that can transform the hematopoietic (blood & immune) system with a single treatment. Our Engenious gene therapy platform is the first to precisely engineer any or all hematopoietic and immune cells with a one-time, off-the-shelf in vivo treatment. Engenious therapies have an unmatched capacity to deliver all modern genetic modification tools and set a new standard for versatile cell programming and control across a range of complex diseases. We believe the future of medicine lies within us – and this bigger, bolder vision for gene therapy needs incredible people to make it a reality.#J-18808-Ljbffr
