Role Overview

Legend Biotechnology is at the forefront of developing innovative cell-based therapies. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Associate Director to lead our in vivo CAR-T cell therapy program. If you're passionate about advancing groundbreaking treatments and have a strong background in cellular immunotherapy, this role is for you. This individual will report to the Executive Director in R&D. This position will play a pivotal role in shaping our in vivo CAR-T cell therapy program. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including research, development, and manufacturing, to drive the successful translation of preclinical findings into clinical applications. Your expertise will be critical in advancing our mission to improve patient outcomes. The successful candidate should possess extensive knowledge and research experience in virology, molecular biology, in particular virus engineering and in vivo application experience. 6+ year biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience is preferred. The candidate needs to demonstrate the ability of delivering scientific results with integrity and meeting timeline, show the value of collaboration and teamwork, and provide strategy, expertise, resources, and guidance in a cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide strategic direction for in vivo CAR-T cell therapy development. Work with team members and cross-functional teams including research, clinical, and regulatory teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of the program.

Stay abreast of the latest advancements in in vivo CAR-T cell therapy.

Independently design and execute experiments, document, and interpret scientific results, present the data to cross-functional teams.

In vivo study design and assay development. NHP study experience is a plus.

Can work in lab and manage projects to meet timeline in a fast-paced environment.

Foster a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and excellence.

Requirements

Education: Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline (e.g., immunology, cell biology, molecular biology, virology) with a minimum of 6 years of industry experience.

Experience: Proven track record in cellular immunotherapy, particularly in CAR-T cell therapy and gene therapy.

Experience with in vivo CAR-T and preclinical studies.

Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
