$93,000-$108,000/annually
JOB SUMMARY:
Catholic Charities seeks a passionate and dynamic advocate who is compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally aware to join us as our Director of Grants and Foundation Relations.
The Director of Grants and Foundation Relations reports to the Senior Vice President of Development. The primary function of this position is to maximize corporate, foundation, and government grant support for Catholic Charities including developing and maintaining a portfolio of local, regional, and national funders. Provides leadership, guidance, goal setting, and supervision of the Grants Team.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Strategic Planning and Analysis
Direct and implement strategies to maximize corporate, foundation and government grant support of Catholic Charities programs and services.
Conduct ongoing analysis to determine giving trends, opportunities, and weaknesses of corporate/foundation/government contributed revenue efforts.
Provide fiscal year grants contributed revenue actuals and forecasts.
Build a yearly corporate, foundation and government grant development plan that aligns with funding needs for the organization.
Grant Writing and Administration
Establish, oversee and maintain systems and procedures to ensure accountability for the grants function.
Oversee all phases of the grant process including research, writing, budget creation, tracking, and reporting.
Collaborate with the Advocacy and Public Policy team to further the opportunities within the Government Grants area.
Educate Program Managers and Finance about grant compliance requirements.
Responsible for reviewing and ensuring the relevance, accuracy, and timeliness of data and reporting for purposes of accountability and client outcomes.
Create and manage an annual budget for the Grants department.
Donor Development
Ensure proper stewardship and activity with private and public sector funders to create and strengthen relationships.
Manage a portfolio of high-level donors/prospects for solicitation, cultivation, and stewardship.
Oversee corporate sponsorship efforts.
Establish relationships with local corporate and foundation Program Officers and Executives.
Represent Catholic Charities at funder site visits, agency events, and community/civic groups/events.
Collaborate with the leadership team, program staff, research team, and volunteer resource department in corporate/foundation efforts.
Provide updates to the Development Committee of the Board.
Staff Management
Hire, train, motivate, and supervise members of the Grants Department to ensure the best performance.
Provide leadership and professional development opportunities to direct reports.
Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Minimum of five (5) years of non-profit fundraising experience or comparable corporate or foundation grant or community outreach work.
Minimum of three (3) years supervisory experience required.
Experience supervising corporate, foundation, and government grant activity highly desired.
Strong background in nonprofit corporate, foundation, and government relations.
Competency with Salesforce preferred, but experience with donor or customer data management systems required.
Strong computer skills in MS Office software.
Experience with online government grant platforms including state and federal requirements.
Presentation skills and public speaking experience are highly desired.
Has the ability to work with a diverse and/or low-income population, including those who may be experiencing homelessness, unstable housing, and/or mental illness.
