Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller with a background in the construction industry and proficiency in Sage 300. The Controller will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the company, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, overseeing budget processes, and providing strategic insights to improve overall financial performance. This role is critical to maintaining the financial health of our organization and requires expertise in construction accounting, job costing, and contract management.

This position is onsite 2-3 days per week. Responsibilities: Financial Management: Oversee the preparation and accuracy of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports. Ensure compliance with GAAP and other applicable financial regulations. Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, and cost accounting. Construction-Specific Accounting: Implement and maintain construction-specific accounting processes, including job costing, project billing, and contract management. Review and analyze Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports, ensuring accurate tracking of project costs and profitability. Oversee compliance with project contracts, lien releases, and retainage. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process, working with senior management to develop and monitor financial plans. Provide ongoing analysis of variances between actual results and budgeted/forecasted performance. Collaborate with project managers to review project budgets, update forecasts, and control costs. Cash Flow Management: Maintain cash flow forecasts and ensure the company has adequate liquidity to meet operational and capital investment needs. Manage relationships with lenders, banks, and external auditors. Internal Controls & Process Improvement: Develop and maintain strong internal control processes to safeguard company assets. Continuously improve accounting procedures and systems, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, tax filings, and industry-specific regulations. Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accounting and finance professionals. Work closely with executive leadership to support strategic planning and decision-making. Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 a year
