A reasonable estimate for an appointment to teach a standard five-credit course is $8,531-$10,492 (based on salary points 1-8). Compensation for Summer Session courses may vary from courses taught during the academic year.Percent Time:
Variable, based on the course load assigned.Anticipated Start:
Appointments are contingent on the hiring unit's instructional need and the availability of funding. This recruitment is valid for initial appointments made in fall quarter 2024 through fall quarter 2025. Initial appointments with effective dates outside of this recruitment period will require an alternative open recruitment.Position Duration:
Appointments are typically made during one or more quarters of the regular academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), but they may also be made during Summer Session.Application Window

The Department of Music at the University of California, Santa Cruz (UCSC) invites applications for an ongoing pool of lecturers who may be called upon to teach various courses at the lower- and upper-division course level. We seek applications from outstanding candidates with relevant teaching experience who can provide individual & group music lessons to students. Music instruction is given on bassoon, oboe, flute, clarinet, saxophone, piano, harpsichord, classical guitar, voice (all ranges), horn, trumpet, trombone, violin, viola, cello, bass, drum set, percussion, harp, and other instruments as required.Applicants with expertise in college-level teaching experience or who can contribute to the diversity and excellence of the Music Department's undergraduate and graduate programs (Music Ph.D., D.M.A, and M.A.) are strongly encouraged to apply.Internal candidates will be given priority consideration.Music Department:

Basic Qualifications
(required at the time the application is submitted)Master's Degree (or equivalent foreign degree) in music; or four years of artistic and creative work consisting of a national and/or international record of performances, exhibitions, or installations in music venues, museums, galleries, and festivals, and evidence of scholarship in peer-reviewed journals, web, and/or book publications.Application Requirements
