Job Title:
Senior Scientist Plant Genetics
Location : New Haven, CT
Schedule / Hours: Monday - Friday, Full time
Type :Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
Routine maintenance of plant tissue culture, various species
Media preparation
Setting up tissue culture experiments and recording of results
Conduct molecular biology experiments including DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, and cloning.
Assist in gene editing projects, including CRISPR/Cas9 techniques, to modify genomes.
Manage and maintain tissue cultures, monitoring growth, and development.
Prepare and analyze samples using advanced molecular biology techniques.
Collaborate with research teams to design and execute experiments.
Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records and data analysis.
Ensure compliance with laboratory safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
Requirements:
Master’s or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Plant Biology, or a related field.
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in plant tissue culture and plant biology.
Experience with Agricultural crops and gene editing ideal.
5-7 years of relevant lab experience with a focus on molecular biology and gene editing technologies.
Proven leadership experience in managing research projects and potentially teams.
Extensive experience with CRISPR/Cas9 and other gene editing technologies, including successful project implementation.
