Statement of the Job:
The School of Economics seeks a Visiting Assistant Professor for a fixed-length term of 1 year, starting September 2025. The position is a 9-month academic year appointment with primarily teaching duties. We are seeking a vibrant, enthusiastic individual with strong teaching and organizational skills who is committed to fostering an inclusive environment for undergraduate economics instruction and mentoring.Responsibilities of the position include teaching undergraduate economics courses, with an expectation of 3 courses each in two semesters. Assigned courses may include Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, and other courses depending on the successful candidate. This person is expected to work closely with the SOE Director, SOE faculty, and the academic administrative personnel of the College, and to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the School, University, and the discipline.Qualifications:Required:Master’s degree or higher (e.g., M.A./M.S., Ph.D.) in economics or related fieldPotential for excellence in teaching undergraduate economics coursesHighly effective oral and written communication skillsProficiency in (or willingness to learn) the use of instructional technology and online teaching toolsCommitment to enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion within the discipline and institutionCommitment to professional development and collegialityPreferred:Experience as an instructor and/or teaching assistant in courses such as Principles of Microeconomics, Principles of Macroeconomics, Principles of Economic Data Analysis, and Economics elective courses.How to apply:
