The Mayo Clinic is seeking a medical oncologist focused on gastrointestinal cancers to join the Division of Medical Oncology in Rochester, Minnesota. The ideal candidate will have translational research experience and clinical expertise in gastrointestinal cancers. This position offers the opportunity to work in a program with a long history of excellence in gastrointestinal cancer treatment and research, with a myriad of opportunities for patient care, clinical trials, and translational science. Through the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center there are opportunities to participate in and contribute to multiple NCI sponsored activities including three cooperate groups, six SPOREs, and an early therapeutics program. Mayo Clinic also serves as the base for the Academic and Community Cancer Research United clinical trials network.
The chosen candidate is expected to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary setting. Physicians work in a team focused environment with world renowned faculty in Gastroenterology, Surgical specialties, Radiation Oncology (with options for proton beam therapy and SBRT), Pathology, cancer focused Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, and Palliative Care to provide high level and integrated care for patients. An active early therapeutics program is available for novel agent development and testing. Post training experience in gastrointestinal cancers is preferred. Incoming academic rank would be commensurate with experience.
