Tissue Registry Clerk
Pride Health is hiring a Tissue Registry Clerk for one of its clients in Minnesota.
This is a 3-month contract with a possibility of extension with competitive pay and benefits.
Location – Rochester, Minnesota (55905)
Pay range - $22 - $25 per hour.
Length of assignment – 3 months contract (possibility to extend)
Shift – Monday – Thursday, Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm; flexibility offered.
Job Summary
The Tissue Registry Clerk is responsible for performing a variety of clerical and processing duties that include filing of tissue (fresh and formalin-fixed), glass slides, and paraffin blocks. Other duties may include maintaining supply inventory, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning. The Tissue Registry Clerk works with various computer information systems daily. The Tissue Registry Clerk needs to be able to handle fresh and formalin-fixed tissue, organs, and amputations for archival purposes. Requires the ability to be attentive to details and to adhere to strict safety requirements for handling hazardous chemicals and infectious agents.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2 years of medical experience is required.
- Previous experience or knowledge of computers and keyboarding, telephone operations and other office equipment desired.
- The ability to accurately read specimen labels and work with numbers to prevent mislabeling.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, and a background in science.
- Organizing by a sequential number, high attention to detail to identify if out of sequence.
- Data entry in Excel; documenting data accurately.
- Able to remain productive with repetitive tasks and work independently.
- Retrieving and refiling materials; counting and verifying materials.
