The goal of HSDM is to continue setting a standard of excellence in the provision of oral health care and defining the future of interdisciplinary dental education, state-of-the-art clinical practice, and cutting-edge basic, clinical, and translational research.HSDM invites applications for a full-time position as the Predoctoral Director of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This appointment is expected to be at the assistant or associate professor level. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications and experience. Applicants should have a strong record and future promise in teaching, service, and scholarship in OMS, and be prepared to join a vibrant program, recognized nationally and internationally for educating leaders in research, patient care, and service. The incumbent’s responsibilities will include the planning, evaluating, and revising the predoctoral OMS curriculum to provide high-quality instruction and ensuring predoctoral students and advanced graduate residents meet required course outcomes and educational accreditation standards. Additional responsibilities include leadership over the development and enhancement of the clinical experience for students via direct and indirect student clinical supervision, including surgeries and sedation oversight for predoctoral and advanced graduate students. Opportunities exist for a broad scope of practice including hospital-based procedures within and outside Mass General Brigham Hospital and/or development of an intramural faculty practice at Harvard Dental Center, dependent on interest, availability, and the needs of the department and clinical centers.Basic Qualifications:
DDS or DMD degree from an ADA-accredited dental school, completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery training program with American Board of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery certification or eligibility. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and eligible for licensure in dentistry and anesthesia in Massachusetts. Foreign dental school graduates will be considered but must be eligible for Massachusetts licensure in dentistry and general anesthesia.Additional Qualifications:Special Instructions:
