TBD Based on CandidateDetails:The Department of Population Health Sciences seeks a vibrant and visionary scientist to lead the Division of Health System Innovation and Research (HSIR) within the Department of Population Health Sciences. The Department’s key missions include research, education, community engagement, health disparities, and collaboration with clinical partners.Candidates for the HSIR Division Chief should have a:Proven track record of leadership.History of innovative and successful investigation.Strong appreciation of diverse health service research areas.Commitment to program development, team science, mentoring across career stages, and education.HSIR currently has 16 tenure/tenure track faculty and 7 research track faculty. Faculty overarching areas of interest include:Health Policy and Health Economics (including the Matheson Center for Health Care Studies).Implementation Science and Health System Improvement.Digital Health.Patient Centered Care and Decision Science.Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics.This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished health services researcher to lead a high-caliber program of engaged, multi-disciplinary investigators. The University of Utah is an outstanding environment for conducting research on health care delivery and clinical system redesign.Qualifications:Candidates should have a track record of successful, extramurally-funded health services research. Experience with integrating research into the health care setting is strongly desired. Demonstration of leadership capacity and ability to communicate effectively is essential. The position will entail engagement with individuals across a wide variety of clinical, operational, and investigative roles. The Division Chief will be charged with continuing to grow and sustain a program of excellence.Applicants for Division Chief are expected to hold a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD (or equivalent), to have a proven track record of leadership experience, a history of successful mentoring and/or teaching, and evidence of an innovative and successful research career with peer-reviewed extramural funding.Responsibilities:The Division Chief is responsible for defining the vision of the division in collaboration with the Department Chair. The Division Chief will also take a strong mentoring role with faculty.
