We provide students with a rich and dynamic learning experience that embraces our commitment to provide quality education and promote life-long learning - emphasizing collaboration and engaging students in and out of the classroom, encouraging them to realize their goals, and to become global citizens and socially responsible leaders.The Position:The Director of Workforce Development is a full-time 12-month position that will provide academic leadership, direction, and support to Career and Technical Education programs. The Director is responsible for visioning, planning, and directing career and workforce education programming; reviewing grant opportunities and facilitating the writing of appropriate grants; coordinating and monitoring projects to ensure completion within budget; monitoring and reviewing expenditures for conformance with grant objectives; and performing related work as required/assigned.Duties and Responsibilities:Plans, directs, organizes, and manages the administration of high-quality workforce education.Aligns and coordinates the efforts of other career education, career exploration, work-based learning, and employer engagement efforts at the College.Serves as the college lead with respect to the Strong Workforce Program and related local and regional plans.In collaboration with the PRIE Office, establishes and maintains shared data systems to facilitate information sharing and employer relationship management.Develops and solicits grants and external funding sources; administers grant funding.Develops systems and processes for the management and implementation of daily operations of grant-funded projects.Initiates and supports the development of career and workforce programs by working with College faculty and staff.Meets with faculty, administrators, support staff, and grant collaborators on a regular basis to review new grant opportunities.Serves as a college liaison to career and technical education groups and develops partnerships with external agencies.Implements District rules and regulations, California Education Code, Title 5, and collective bargaining agreements as required.Manages Strong Workforce Program and CTE (Carl Perkins) funds and ensures compliance with Federal and State regulations.Serves as an active member of the College administrative team to address college-wide issues and concerns.Directs, coordinates, and participates in short-range and long-range planning.Analyzes business and industry trends to identify key local and regional workforce needs.Promotes career and workforce development through presentations and other materials.Participates in a variety of committee and staff meetings in support of economic development programs.Performs related duties as required or assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Possession of a Master's degree or above from an accredited institution in a relevant field OR the equivalent.One year of formal training or leadership experience related to community college career and technical education.Demonstrated cultural competence and understanding of diverse backgrounds.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of community college career and technical education practices.Knowledge of program development, management, and supervision.Ability to think innovatively and encourage faculty and staff innovation.Ability to learn and apply District policies and regulations.Skill in developing, implementing, and assessing program outcomes.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.Ability to advocate effectively for program recommendations.Commitment to providing career services and internship opportunities.Proficiency in computer software for reports and presentations.Understanding of the role and purpose of community colleges.Knowledge of federal regulations and accreditation.Experience in training and supervising others.To apply, visit:
