The Director of Financial Aid Services performs professional supervisory work involved in strategic planning, implementation, supervision and evaluation of financial aid and related programs, services and staffing for a community college. The employee is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive program of student financial aid services, and for assessing their effectiveness relative to the student population.Duties and Responsibilities

Exchanges information with funding sources, government agency representatives, students, staff, and other educational institutions regarding financial aid policies and procedures.Serves as primary technical resource for the College and District regarding financial aid and various related student services.Attends workshops and conferences to obtain current information related to financial aid.Makes presentations to publicize and present information related to services offered.Trains, supervises and evaluates the work of staff.Researches data for and completes required funding agency and District reports and surveys.Performs other related duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

A combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a closely related field.Successful work experience in financial assistance or related eligibility and client services.Experience with the implementation and evaluation of detailed regulations.Skill in written and oral communication, including public speaking.Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.Physical Requirements

This classification requires sitting for long periods of time, pushing, pulling, and visual acuity. Ability to communicate and provide information to others; ability to operate a motor vehicle and drive to off-campus locations.Open Date
