TRIO - Program Director

DESCRIPTION:
Edmonds College seeks an experienced professional who has experience in the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) program to serve as Director of TRIO Student Support Services. TRIO is a U.S. Department of Education grant-funded program, providing comprehensive academic support services to college students with a range of academic needs and are first-generation college, low income, and/or have a disability. Federal TRIO SSS programs are designed to motivate and support students from disadvantaged or underserved backgrounds. The mission of TRIO SSS and this position is to increase retention, graduation, and transfer rates for TRIO participants. The Director will lead the development, implementation, administration and activities of the program in accordance with federal regulations and grant objectives. This position also provides supervision to full-time and part-time employees. The TRIO SSS program is funded by the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE) grant and is subject to reauthorization of federal resources. This TRIO SSS grant and position is currently funded through August 31st, 2025. We have applied for another TRIO SSS grant, which if approved will begin in September 2025.
This is an exempt position reporting to the Vice President for Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Oversee the overall implementation of the TRIO SSS grant.
Administer the program budget and authorize expenditures of federal funds in collaboration with the Vice President for Equity, Inclusion and Belonging.
Develop, direct, and evaluate TRIO SSS program in accordance with the USDOE rules and regulations.
Design and implement TRIO SSS program policies and procedures.
Prepare and maintain program data and prepare reports as required by the USDOE.
Lead, complete and submit the completion of the Annual Performance Report (APR) with support from staff, in accordance with instructions outlined by the USDOE.
Plan and implement with staff a recruitment and persistence plan.
Model multicultural competencies and practices that advance DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging) and student success.
Supervise the selection/eligibility of project participants according to SSS guidelines.
Maintain a student caseload and allocate appropriate caseload to staff.
Establish and maintain liaisons with key areas on campus (e.g., Student Services, Enrollment Services, Financial Aid, Resource Center, Center for Student Engagement and Learning, Tutoring, etc.) and academic programs.
Participate and collaborate in college wide initiatives, plan and facilitate program sponsored events and activities.
Exercise sound judgment, exhibit resilience under pressure, set priorities, achieve goals, assess complex situations, render fair judgments, and maintain strong ethical and professional standards.
Hire, supervise and manage department employees.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in education, counseling, social work, psychology student affairs, or other closely related field from an accredited institution.
Two-three years experience in TRIO SSS program administration, supervision, and budget development and management.
Experience conducting program evaluations and preparing reports (e.g. Annual Performance Report).
Experience using technology to collect, analyze, and distribute data (e.g. StudentAccess Online for SSS).
Demonstrated experience, expertise, multicultural competencies, and commitment to equity in working with students, communities, and colleagues from diverse backgrounds and identities.
PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is typically performed in an office setting, and onsite/in-person. The ability to sit at a desk/computer station, bend, stoop, walk and generally move around the office to consult with others, work within a busy environment and remain focused on tasks. Inventory management requires some lifting and moving of objects up to 30lbs.
COMPENSATION:
Salary is
$70,194.52 - $78,984.11
is based on the Edmonds College administrative/exempt salary schedule, plus a full state benefits package, which includes tuition waivers for college classes, medical, dental, retirement options and more. Vacation and leave package includes 12 sick days per year, 11 scheduled holidays, 1 personal holiday, and 24 vacation leave days per year.
FLSA Status:
The position is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
