Position SummaryThe Samsung direct-to-consumer ecommerce team is looking for a Director of Strategic Planning and Analytics to drive both short term and long term Demand and Supply planning for Mobile business. This candidate will play a critical role and responsible to manage

weekly/monthly/quarterly

sales forecast with high accuracy using analytics and build models based on Ecommerce sales drivers, promotional analysis and using category specific business knowledge.

The individual is expected to be hands-on to prepare Sales forecasting, product mix, risk/opportunity analysis and to evaluate Ecommerce sales drivers (Traffic, conversion rate), impact of promotions on different sales platforms (e.g. Employee purchase plan), promotional analytics (attribution, elasticity and ROI/financial analysis) and creating what-if scenarios to achieve business goals. The person will also ensure continuous improvement towards integrated planning and to manage the overall demand and supply planning. Additionally, the candidate is expected to define and drive gap closures to achieve the target plan. The role also includes creating

insights/presentation

for executive reviews. A successful candidate is highly analytical with critical thinking skills and business savvy, be adaptive and able to work cross functionally to influence sales and operations teams working towards a common goal in a highly matrixed, fast pacing organization. The candidate is expected to have a strong experience in B2C Direct to Consumer business with strong emphasis on quantitative business analysis to conduct business analysis. The position is located in Plano, TX.

Role and ResponsibilitiesLead the team to manage

weekly/monthly/quarterly

sales forecast for both quantity and revenueLead the Promotional analysis for attribution, elasticity and ROI/financial analysisDevelop monthly/quarterly targets and distribute the targets to various categories/channels and traffic drivers for EcommerceBuild business cases and financial targets for Ecommerce business promotions and marketing spendDrive Supply Chain transition and transformation to effectively integrate demand and supply and financial targetsSignificantly improve planning process by integrating demand plan, supply plan, financial outlook and target plan for a long term sustainable businessDefine the gap vs the target/management plan and work with CMs to drive gap closuresCreate presentations with compelling data driven story to share with leadership, cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendationsWork with Category Management, Finance and Operations team to work on gap closuresHands-on to work on forecasting, gap analysis, presentations and Promotional analysisManage the team to for multiple categories (MX HHP, Tab, WW, TWS and PC)Work with Category Management, Finance and Operations team to define and work on gap closuresSkills and QualificationsBackground/Experience

12+ years of experience in Ecommerce business planning, category management and/or data and analytics-intensive role with an emphasis on Quantitative analytics and a people manager for 3+ yearsBachelor’s degree in Business/Economics or in

math/analytics/engineering
