The YMCA Ayrlawn Program Center in Bethesda, Maryland is currently seeking a Lead Teacher to join our team.Responsibilities:- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities for children in a classroom setting- Establish and maintain positive relationships with children, families, and staff- Create a safe and nurturing classroom environment- Foster social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in children- Follow all licensing and accreditation requirementsQualifications and Skills:Must be at least 20 years of age

CDA/AA/BA/BS in Early Childcare Education or related fieldCurrent CPR and First Aid CertificationDocumentation of physical examination and TB skin testClear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprintingMust meet the county/state licensing requirementsMust have three years' experience working with children plus one year as a teacher working in a licensed centerMust have the critical skill of being able to relate to parents, school staff and children and have a positive, creative attitude

Working Conditions:

Must be able to stand or sit for prolonged periods of timeMust be physically active to play games and sports with the childrenMust be able to pick-up at least 35 poundsMust have visual acuity to observe all children
