This role supports both daily operational procurement and strategic sourcing tasks. As an integral part of our procurement team, you will collaborate with research teams and departments to ensure the efficient procurement of research materials, G&A services, IT software, and equipment. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow into a Buyer role.The position will be based in Redwood City or San Francisco, CA either on a hybrid or on-site basis.What You'll DoCollaborate with internal teams to support their procurement needs and identify purchasing opportunitiesAssist in the development of sourcing strategies to improve vendor performance and reduce costsParticipate in supplier risk assessment and help implement mitigation strategiesSupport the purchasing of goods and services by obtaining quotes, reviewing contracts, and helping with price negotiationsTrack and manage purchase orders to ensure timely delivery and troubleshooting when issues ariseAssist with supplier onboarding and ensuring all vendor documentation is complete and compliantHelp monitor open purchase orders and assist accounts payable in resolving discrepancies between POs and invoicesTrain team members on the procurement process and system usage to support efficiencyProactively identify opportunities for process improvement in procurementTrain users on the procurement system and best practices to support an efficient end-to-end process in accordance with the organization’s guidelinesWhat You'll BringBachelor’s degree in Business, Science, or a related field
