Position Overview and Responsibilities

The
Director of Building Services
is expected to have fantastic organizational and time management skills. The ideal candidate will display natural leadership and possess fantastic communication skills with a great eye for detail. To ensure success, the Director of Building Services should display strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a solid understanding of building maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, cleaning and leading team members. This role reports to the General Manager.

his is an in-person position located on-site of the property.
What You’ll Do:
Uphold Sentral’s standards, best practices, policies and procedures, and value of excellence in customer servicePrioritize above all a strong customer service outlook through personal contact with residents and guestsCoordinate daily with the General Manager on overall maintenance projectsInspect sites regularly to identify problems and necessary maintenancePrepare weekly maintenance schedules and allocate work based on forecasted workloadsEmploy, supervise and train Building Services team membersCoordinate daily cleaning and maintenance activitiesOversee all repairs and ensure that work is completed on timeMaintain all inventory and equipment, and ensure proper storageComply with all health and safety regulations and practicesConduct preventative maintenance workConduct follow-ups on all maintenance and repair workConduct safety inspections as scheduledEstablish strategies to meet workload demands on timeComplete minor plumbing, electrical and miscellaneous repairs (HVAC boilers, hot water heaters)Provide 24/7 support to the Maintenance teamPerform other related duties and assignments as needed and assigned
Skills and Experience
2 years of prior experience as a Maintenance Manager / DirectorStrong knowledge of building trades, cleaning procedures and maintenanceSolid understanding of health and safety regulations and practicesEffective budgeting and performance management skillsFantastic organizational and leadership skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsMust work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Computer literate with capabilities in email, MS Office and related communication toolsGreat time management skillsStrong decision-making and problem-solving skills
