and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.OverviewProvide support in execution of Construction Management Services for a K-12 education market sector capital project and modernization program.Duties and ResponsibilitiesDevelops full understanding of the scope and interdependence of all contract documentsObserves and records jobsite activity in accordance with required contractual frequencyManages effective document control mechanisms for the project to ensure that work is performed in accordance with contract documentsEvaluates change order requests including design changes, specifications and drawing releases and reports statusEvaluates submittals of shop drawings, material data and samples and takes appropriate action based upon contract specificationsReviews and processes as-built drawings to ensure that all changes during the course of construction are recordedReviews the project schedule and assists the project manager in the maintenance of it as requestedManages the request for information process in order to facilitate the timely exchange of information between designer and contractorAssists the project manager in the maintenance of effective cost control mechanisms for the projectCompletes project close out requirements in accordance with contract documentsCoordinates meeting agendas, prepares minutes and follows up on action itemsUtilizes safe work practices and follows directives, policies and procedures for assisting and maintaining a healthy and safe work environmentMaintains effective and professional relationships with owners, architects, engineers and contractorsExecutes additional duties and responsibilities as assignedEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture is preferred2 or more years of related work experience in construction requiredKnowledge and SkillsKnowledge of construction and engineering related processes, as well as industry practices is requiredPrior experience in the California Public Education Market sector is preferredKnowledge of the roles and interdependence between the contractor, designer, owner, and construction manager is requiredEffective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective interpersonal relationships is requiredProficient with the MS Suite of tools with exposure to other construction specific software like Bluebeam, Primavera P6, Procore, and/or BIM tools is strongly preferredAbility to read and comprehend technical drawings and blueprints is neededLicense and CertificationsValid California driver’s license and clean driving record is requiredTravel RequirementsThis position is site based at the client location in the city of San Francisco, CA.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and/or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud. Have the ability to manage a commute regionally as project site change.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must frequently lift and or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.
