As part of the talented Freedom Boat Club team (the nation’s oldest and largest private member boat club), you will be the regional leader for the territory and face of the club to the members as the Director of Operations, Southeast Florida. We are looking for a strong manager that will drive a remarkable member experience, oversee a fleet of vessels, and develop strong teams. In addition, the Director of Operations is responsible for operational efficiencies and overall club performance. This position will cover the following areas: Ft. Lauderdale, Homestead, Islamorada, and Miami Beach.Essential Functions:
Analyze, report out and improve KPI metrics across all locations to ensure operations are within or exceeding standards.Manage operating budget for the district and implement cost saving measures where possible.Review and approve payroll for Area Location Managers.Engage in quarterly Achieve Check-Ins and complete annual performance evaluations.Coordinate with the Marine Operations Center to ensure all fleet needs are being addressed in a timely, efficient, and effective manner.Perform Fleetio deep cleaning audit regularly to ensure brand standards and member experience goals are met.Ensure all locations are properly maintaining and cleaning the vessels to standards.Ensure adequate inventory and supply levels are maintained at each location.Lead onboarding training for new staff; Ensure dock staff receive continual training.Visit all locations consistently to assess needs and ensure proper procedures are executed.Develop, coordinate, and implement best practices, SOPs, and location improvement projects.Provide input and update the manager and dock staff manuals.Responsible for safety performance and ensuring work environments are adequate and safe.Partner with EH&S to identify opportunities to enhance and implement best practices.Drive growth and Access to Water by maintaining strong relationships with landlords.Coordinate existing location lease management/renewals with Demand Planning.Lead prospecting efforts to identify new location opportunities and negotiations.Develop and continue relationships with local marina managers and harbor masters.Responsible for member satisfaction and retention; Review member feedback regularly.Correspond with members on escalations from Area Location Managers.Assist in developing and implementing a performance incentive-based compensation plan for dock staff.Maintain an open line of communication with all Area Location Managers.Become familiar with various local waterways and popular boating destinations.Aid in future development and implementation of various special projects.Support outside departments with the execution of events and projects.All other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required.Demonstrated ability to manage large teams.Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies involved in operations.Excellent verbal and written communication and people skills.Must be a self-starter and capable of working unsupervised.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Be at least 21 years of age.Pass a background/education check, and drug screen.Have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.Preferred Qualifications:
3-5 years of related operations experience.Experience in and around boats.Ability to perform minor boat maintenance.Positive, cooperative attitude with the capability of working unsupervised.Working Conditions:
Work outdoors and in various weather conditions.Work in a marina setting on docks that may be fixed or floating.Work near and on the water.Safely move on, off and in vessels during various tide and weather conditions.Ability to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.Vision adequate to read/manipulate handheld tablets.Why Brunswick:
